When you think of surveillance systems as part of a business, hotels may not be the first establishments that come to mind. Even so, anyone who has ever stayed in a hotel has more than likely seen security cameras placed in hallways, doorways, recreational areas such as gyms and swimming pools, and at the front desk. In fact, you’ve probably seen security camera monitors that allow guests and staff alike to see what is going on at given moment in the hotel, right there at the front desk.

When guests check into a hotel, they want to know they can trust the staff to provide them with an overnight stay that is as comfortable and secure as their own homes. The more effort you put into proving your hotel’s safety to your guests, the more competitive you become and the more business you attract. Visible cameras are one of the easiest and least expensive ways to to earn trust, a positive reputation, and repeat business. Not only will a quality Security Camera System give your guests peace of mind, but they will keep them safe, as well.

Let’s face it. Crimes such as vandalism, theft, and assault are on the rise in cities all throughout the United States. Not only do visible security cameras make would-be criminals think twice about committing their crimes, but in the event that a crime does occur, footage from security cameras can help law enforcement agencies identify and track down a suspect and can even be used as evidence to eventually prosecute a suspect in court. Cameras placed around entrances and exits allow hotel staff and law enforcement to get a good look at every single hotel guest and any other people who are entering the building.

Safety and security aren’t the only ways surveillance systems can help keep your hotel running smoothly. Cameras placed behind the scenes, in areas such as storage rooms, supply closets, and maintenance areas, will allow you to keep an eye on your employees. Every manager would like to think they’ve hired the most trustworthy people to work for them, but sometimes someone is able to slide through the cracks and sometimes good people use bad judgment. In the event of an accident or any type of dispute, whether it’s an employee or guest, a security camera system may help determine what exactly happened and who is to blame.

Any reputable hotel should have a quality security camera system. For more information or to get a Hotel Camera Security Quote visit our website at CameraSecurityNow.com or call 877-422-1907.

An increase in sales and revenue is the icing on the cake for every company, and there was one company that achieved more than they expected when the final tallies for their third quarter earnings came in, Basler AG.

According to preliminary figures, sales and pre-tax earnings were significantly higher than levels of previous years. These numbers were also beyond the expectations of the management board of Basler AG. Group sales for the first three quarters of 2010 for Basler AG were at somewhere around $51.5 million.

This exceeded the previous year’s earnings of around $32.5 million by about 58%. Total earnings before taxes (EBT) for Basler AG came in at around $5 million which was nearly $16 million up from the previous year’s results.

But what, you may ask, is driving the sales growth of Basler AG? Well, that is simple, the digital camera segment of the company. Camera sales increased for Basler AG in the first three quarters by 85% to $40.4 million. Incoming orders were around $45.6 million compared to $25.4 million last year.

Assuming continued market development, Basler AG will continue to increase their gains for the fiscal year 2010. Basler AG expects group sales to increase to a level somewhere between $62 million and $65 million at an EBT of no less than $5.5 million.

If you are like many homeowners, you want to ensure the well being of your house and property. Although not a new concept, many homeowners are beginning to utilize security cameras in order to help assure the safety homes, and in particular, they are using Driveway Security Cameras. With recent advances in technology and the lowered cost of cameras and hardware, this trend has risen to record levels over the last year.

For those unfamiliar with with the concept of utilizing security cameras to keep an eye on your home or your driveway, there are several things to consider before buying and installing your security system.

What is in your driveway.

Before deciding what type of security system you want to install for your home, you need to take into consideration how expensive the items in your driveway are and if they justify a professional grade security system. Do need to be able to monitor your driveway in live time while you are away? Or do you simply want to keep a video record of any events that might have taken place. Things like this will determine what kind of security system you will need to fit your specifications.

What you will need for your Driveway Security System.

The minimum driveway security system we suggest would consist of a GeoVision based PC DVR along with a single bullet camera. Although the system specs of even the most basic system can vary greatly we find that a GeoVision 650 PC with a 17″ LCD and a bullet camera is more than enough for your most basic needs. For the camera itself it would be ideal to get a low light color bullet camera with a wide angle lens. It is important to note that a wide angle lens will bring some limitations to the effective viewing distance of the camera and such it is best to put the camera in close proximity to the objects you want to monitor. Another great reason to use bullet cameras for your security project is that they are usually extremely small and black in color making them extremely hard to notice. Whats also great about this type of security system is that the DVR(Digital Video Recorder) will record all the happenings for you to watch at a later date.

Conclusion.

Getting a professional grade security system to monitor your home or driveway is an extremely worthwhile project for many homeowners.

After suffering over $3,700 in damages due to vandalism from local neighborhood kids, Charles Hill has become the first private homeowner in the city to directly connect his private surveillance cameras straight to Chicago’s 911 emergency center. However, Hill is not the only one who is taking advantage of Chicago’s unprecedented offer to connect privately owned cameras to the 911 emergency center which was made available two months ago.

Since the announcement nearly two dozen universities, businesses, colleges, and high-rise complexes have agreed to share their video with the Chicago Security Center. Most notably, DePaul University has elected to hook up at least 15 on-campus cameras due to its campuses being in the heart of residential and commercial districts.

DePauls director of public safetey, Bob Wachowski, had this to say about the security measures DePaul has decided to implement. “If something happens on a city street where we have a camera and the city has access to it, they can tell what they’re sending first-responders into. . . they can see what the person is doing and describe it to first-responders.”

This new network of public-private internet connections will transmit the fully encrypted video data that will not be compromised by any outside connections, a feat made possible by software used in Operation Virtual Shield.

Due to enthusiastic response in the first two months from residents and businesses alike in Chicago, City Hall is confident that hundreds of privately owned cameras will eventually be added to the city’s network. If you are a resident or business owner and are considering installing a Chicago Camera Security System, consider contacting a Tech Travel Agent. Tech Travel Agents can help guide you in the right decisions about camera security and even install and network your cctv cameras.

In today’s times almost all gas stations have security cameras, but most of these gas stations have been using the same security camera solution for years now. Many stations still use old tape based security system and others just use a monitor with no recording device at all.

A common occurrence we see is owners do not want to spend the extra money on new equipment because they think their old equipment suits the job just fine. Well an easy cost saving solution that many people do not ever look at is that in most instances you can use your old security camera wires. Your CCTV security cameras are most likely using is a common coax cable still used today. This allows a great deal of the old infrastructure and sometimes the cameras themselves to be easily incorporated into a new PC Based DVR security system. Depending on the size of the facility you can save easily up to 30% on your total cost by using the old wires.

A new Gas Station Security Camera System can be a great way to cut down on stolen merchandise inside and outside of the store, it can also help deter and prosecute drive-offs. A great tool for store owners is the ability to remotely view your security cameras via a live feed across the internet and even playback previously recorded incidents.

Though property crime rates are on the decline, more than 1 in 8 households were victims of property crime in 2008. Small businesses are prone to theft and other property crime like households, because there is the perception that they are more likely to get away with burglarizing a small business than a larger business. There are many ways to protect your business from property crime, like criminal conviction checks, past employment verification, and employee education (more theft protection tips), but security cameras are often the most effective method.

Security cameras and public knowledge of the use of security cameras creates a perception of detection. As score.org puts it: “Employees who perceive that they will be caught engaging in occupational fraud and abuse are less likely to commit it. Increasing the perception of detection may well be the most effective fraud prevention method.” Of course, not only employees are deterred by the perception of detection, the same goes for other people who might consider theft or other property crime.

Unfortunately, security cameras do not stop all instances of theft. However, property is more likely to be recovered or reimbursed when the theft is recorded on camera. In reality, very little stolen property is actually recovered, but most of the recovery is thanks in part to security systems. Due to this, theft deterrance should be the main focus of the camera system.

Today, security systems are affordable for small business and even homeowners. Small business surveillance systems can be installed for as little as $1000 – $5000. The security systems can be CCTV or even IP-based so you can view your cameras from anywhere with internet access.

Systems can be put together very affordable; bullet security cams and dome security cameras start at $80 for black and white and $150 for color. Lenses are available in all sizes from 2.5mm to 500mm and can be changed easily, so your needs can be met for all surveillance areas regardless of size and distance. Pan-tilt-zoom cameras, known as PTZ cameras, that allow users to “look around” the surveillance area are also available.
